Waterfall Wanderings

We had a weeks break in the Yorkshire Dales recently – a beautiful part of the country. You can’t go to the Dales and not photograph waterfalls, it just wouldn’t be right – so I did and I’ve posted a few shots below. The top two are of the falls at West Burton, the third is just outside the village, followed by Aysgarth lower falls, Thornton Force and finally, High Force.

The most challenging from my point of view was Thornton Force as it’s on the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail. Four and a half miles and very up and down which wouldn’t have been too bad were it not for the fact that I was carrying some hefty photographic gear! You know when you think you’re fit and you get the occasional reminder that maybe you’re not the athlete you think you are?…I’m pleased to report that two days later my legs felt like they belonged to me again.
