Portraits

Whether you’re looking for individual, family, group or pet portraits it’s important that you’re listened to. That’s what I do… well, that and take photographs. It’s why I prefer to meet with you before I pick up the camera. You can tell me what sort of photographs you’d like (and, of course, if we haven’t met before it breaks the ice). It all helps the photoshoot go more smoothly because we know what we’re aiming for.

One of the most important things about being a portrait photographer is recognising that whilst some people are naturally at ease being photographed, some aren’t and it’s my job to help those people to relax and feel comfortable in front of the camera.  The aim is for everyone to enjoy it and have some fun.

I’m happy to photograph wherever you like. I have a portable studio which I can bring to you or we can go on location, it’s your choice.

Wherever we meet here are a few things to think about to help get the best pictures

• Location. If it’s outside it’s obviously best to avoid busy times and keep an eye on the weather.
• Clothes. The choice of outfits is entirely up to you and you can change them as often as you like. I’ve included a colour wheel below to give you an idea of which colours best go with which.

Props. These are always good because they reflect someone’s personality. Whether they’re hats, toys, accessories or whatever, they can help people relax and have fun. Toys (and treats) are great for pets too.

Finally, it’s best to be sure everyone is fed, watered and rested before the shoot. It definitely helps the session to go more smoothly.
