The story behind the shot – Gone Fishin’
This is the heron at Rivelin. Well I say the heron, I’ve only ever seen one so have assumed, probably naively, that it’s the same one but who knows!
I had a bit of luck with this as it was standing in some nice light and, of course, when herons are fishing they stay very still. All the same I used a fast shutter speed because you never know… well, that and the fact that I’ve never tried to train a heron but I assume it would take a while…
At some point I may use this picture as one of my greetings cards.
(Memo to self: must practice the art of the seamless plug!)😉
Camera settings by the way were 320 ISO, f5.6 at 1/1000 second.
